Benefits...

The benefits of Thai Yoga Massage are countless. By freeing the flow of vital energy in the body, Thai Massage can improve posture, breathing, flexibility, digestion and circulation. Muscles are stretched, inner organs toned and emotional and nervous tension is reduced. Often a deep sense of peace can be experienced during and after a treatment.

Although the main emphasis in the practice of Thai Yoga Massage is usually on health prevention, it can also be of great therapeutic benefit for a range of specific problems and conditions, such as headaches, back pain, digestive disorders, shoulder and neck tension, joint pain, menstruation problems, insomnia and other stress related conditions.

Techniques...

  • Thai Yoga Massage

  • Pranic Healing

  • Acupressure

I listen closely to my clients so I can then taylor fit each session to their specific needs. My main focus with the people I help is pain management and bringing them back into their body - feeling comfortable and relaxed, this technique helps greatly in alleviating pain.

. . Thai Yoga Massage . .

THAI MASSAGE OR THAI YOGA MASSAGE is a healing art derivative of the Theraveda Buddhism, Buddhist medicine, Classical Indian and Tibetan Ayurveda and Yoga Vedanta. Although it would be more accurate to call this medicine either by its traditional names or "Ancient, Anachronistic or Old Thai Way of Healing with The Hands", the slang forms of "Thai Massage" is in use, and as long as this is so there will be some understandable confusion.

THAI MASSAGE OR THAI YOGA MASSAGE is a system of movement education (Yoga). It is based entirely on principles of energy balancing."Thai Yoga Massage" balances the functions of the four body elements. Thai Yoga Massage incorporates elements of energetic and Prana assessment, mindfulness, gentle rocking, Asana positional release, deep stretching, focused breathing or Prana Yama, Chakra balancing, Prana Nadi or Sen line balancing and rhythmic compression to create a singular healing experience.

THAI MASSAGE OR THAI YOGA MASSAGE brings fundamental elements and energy into harmony and creates wholeness of mind, body and spirit. Thai Yoga and Massage is a Spiritually based Somatic technique and profession, a modality with standards established in the Buddhist holistic centers and temples thousands of years in the past. It has an established code of ethics known as the Buddha Dharma and the "Ten Rules of the Healer". There is an established educational criteria for education and professional practice for services which although at time similar on the surface but which were never intended to be or implied to be "Massage" or "Massage therapy". Traditional Thai Yoga "Massage" also called Thai Yoga Therapy, or Nuat Thai is a therapeutic technique that some people call "Lazy Man's Yoga". Referring to traditional Nuat Thai as "massage" is really western slang. This unique one on one therapy is really a form of assisted yoga and not massage therapy.

What should I expect during my visit?

Thai massage is usually done on a padded mat on the floor.

No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed. You are usually asked to bring or wear comfortable clothing to the massage.

A typical Thai massage is 60 minutes to two hours long.

What conditions is Thai massage used for?

Many people find that Thai massage has the following benefits:

  • relaxes
  • reduces stress
  • improves circulation
  • increases energy
  • increases flexibility
  • improves range of motion
  • centers the mind and body

Precautions

Massage is not recommended for certain people:

  • infectious skin disease, rash, or open wounds
  • immediately after surgery
  • immediately after chemotherapy or radiation, unless recommended by your doctor
  • prone to blood clots. There is a risk of blood clots being dislodged. If you have heart disease, check with your doctor before having a massage
  • pregnant women should check with their doctor first if they are considering getting a massage. Massage in pregnant women should be done by massage therapists who are certified in pregnancy massage.
  • massage should not be done directly over bruises, inflamed skin, unhealed wounds, tumors, abdominal hernia, or areas of recent fractures.

Additional tips

  • Don't eat a heavy meal before the masage
  • If it's your first time at the clinic or spa, arrive at least 10 minutes early to complete the necessary forms. Otherwise, arrive five minutes early so you can have a few minutes to rest and relax before starting the massage.
  • Be sure that your massage therapist has your complete health history, because people with certain conditions should not have Thai massage.
  • If you feel discomfort at any time, let your massage therapist know

. . Pranic Healing . .

PRANIC HEALING is a highly developed and tested system of energy based healing techniques that utilizes "prana" to balance, harmonize and transform the body's energy processes. "Prana" is a Sanskrit word that means "life-force". This invisible bio-energy or vital energy keeps the body alive and maintains a state of good health. In acupuncture, the Chinese refer to this subtle energy as "Chi". It is also called "Ruah" or the "Breath of Life" in the Old Testament.

PRANIC HEALING is a simple yet powerful and effective no-touch energy healing. It is based on the fundamental principle that the body is a "self-repairing" living entity that possesses the innate ability to heal itself.

PRANIC HEALING works on the principle that the healing process is accelerated by increasing the life force or vital energy on the affected part of the physical body.

PRANIC HEALING influences this natural life force to bring about a healthier physical body.

PRANIC HEALING is applied on the bio-electromagnetic field known as the aura, which contains the mold and blueprint of the physical body. This bioplasmic body absorbs life energy and distributes it to the organs and glands. Diseases first appear as energetic disruptions in the energy field before manifesting as ailments in the physical body. Scientific evidence provides tangible proof of the existence of the energy body and its relation to the health and well-being of the physical body. This has been termed as the "bioplasmic body" from the word "bio" meaning life, and "plasma", the forth state of matter after solids, liquids and gases. Scientific experiments conducted by the eminent Russian scientist, Semyon Kirlian, using ultrasensitive photographic process showed a colorful, radiant energy field surrounding the physical bodies of humans, animals and plants. This energy field, or aura, interpenetrates the visible physical body, extending about 4 to 5 inches from the skin's surface. Experiments in Kirlian photography have also revealed that diseased energies appear first in the energy body before manifesting as a physical ailment.
